Pastor Brandon, thanks for sharing your thoughts here. I'm a bit perplexed at you being offended for being left out of the smattering of examples above. Really? Those were random items that came to my attention or that I found in searches. Just now Googling your name, Gosselin, Bisslane, plus combinations. I can only find one comment on the BeliefNet blog. Thus, I cannot find your article or comments.

Additionally, why not share those thoughts here for open discussion instead of being offended?

I'm offended you didn't use my comments from Bisslane's blog. I thought my post was incredibly well thought out and really hit the issue at the heart of the matter...that these people weren't Christ's sheep, they were the by-product of the American Gospel message, goats trained to act like sheep.

Anonymous, thanks for your question. The Bible has been the ultimate since it was inspired by God and spoken by Him through Christ thousands of years ago. As for Christian marriages, they can be ultimate and greatest if couples not only wed before God and man but also keep Christ in their marriage.

The reason marriages between Christians fail is due to their focus drifting from Him to things of self and the world. Frankly, that applies to why non-faith marriages fail, too.

Anonymous, why should anyone "mind their business" on these comments if they are speaking about Jon, Kate, the children, prayers, marriage, divorce, or adultery? Am I to assume you are Candy and disagree with the previous response(s) to your post(s)? Jon & Kate: First, do you truly believe "Greater is he (GOD) that lives in you than he(devil) that lives in the world. Do you truly know the God you serve, do you believe when he says he have called you out of darkness into light and that he knew you before you were born. Could you truly say that you praise him in the midst of it all.
I know you are going through a difficult time, but remember if you truly know the God you serve, then you will know life and death is in the tongue. Fuming against your husband in the public is not virtuous. God said, he has created man after his own image...then why are you insulting Gods creation...you should esteem your husband higher that yourself, you were made as a companion for him, he is the head not you...degrading him in public is not pleasing to God, because you have the power to get on your knees and prayer for your family...the time spent insulting him use it to speak with God his creator. God wants us women to be submissive to our husbands. We cannot walk around insulting Gods creation...and vice versa. You should never be ruled by your feelings or desires...think about spiritual things...santify God in your heart...God has called us to be agents of change. Yes we live in this world but do not act like its peoiple or fight your battles with weapons of the world, instead, use God's power that can destroy fortresses. For greater is he that live in you that he who lives in the world. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world for fame, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will...Remember Kate what comes from your heart is what makes you unclean. Look onto the hills from whence cometh your help, and learn not unto your understanding but unto God...depend on him he wants you to, don't fight the battle with the weapons of the world, that is folly to God...the battle is God's not yours Kate...understand that...be a woman of virtue, compassion, excellence, allow yourself to be used by God live for God, and he will take care of your problems...your children belongs to him, not you not Jon, be careful you are the mother, offer them to God, cover them with the blood of Jesus Christ, that blood that will strengthen you..get on your knees (and the reason I say knees because when you on your knees with uplifted hands, eyes close you are in total surrender to God)and tell him what you want...we can all pray for you but God wants to hear from you Kate, his daughter...Do it don't second guess...God loves you...

Thanks for the reminder to keep praying for the Gosselins, even though they have disappointed me personally. I have been reminded (through your post and other convicting events) that we really must keep praying for our fellow Christians, even as they are struggling. MORESO when they are struggling. I'm so glad people prayed for me during my darkest times... so, thank you for the reminder.

Anonymous 18, thanks for your thoughts. Absolutely, they must set aside feelings and selfishness and seek God. I've yet to read or hear either sharing any fellowship or prayer time with God (sorry, Jon's conversations with the Rabii don't count) and that's a must for them whether they are married or seperate.

this broke my heart when I found out that they were getting divorce. I see both sides in the marriage, but why not work though it and fix it. there are 8 beautiful children that will always be scared from this. God wants us to have a nuclear family and I think the answer to solve their problems would be for them to find god and go to church and see what the bible tells them to do to save their marriage, children's life and all the hurt that is going on between them.

Let Jon and Kate align themselves with you, your will, your love and your forgiveness. Let proper godly reasoning and repentance come to their lives. Bring restoration to this family. first jesus i would like to thank you and our heavenly father for your graciousness and for bringing peace comfort to the gosselin children. i would ask that you go to them continue to give them strength to get thru everyday as you work with there parents. i would also ask to give a spirit of peace to the parents, allowing them to continue to pray and seek you in there every move as they go thru this very diffcult time.i often think of the footsteps verse when going thru things because i know that you lord carry me when i think i am alone and i know that although man is getting in between whats right with gossenlins now, you will continue to work with there hearts to fix whats wrong. I just want it to be known to all, if they actually go through the divorce it would be a huge mistake. Clearly they both are angry at one another and getting a divorce out of anger is the wrong thing to do. To Jon and Kate, if this finds you in time, think about what made you love each other, there is no reason why both of you cannot work things out as Husbank and Wife, not just as Mommy and Daddy. Really Jon, she is 33 years old, is she really going to be a step mommy to your kids. Grow up a little. Kate, treat him like a man, he will respond better if you do. I hope parayer will see you through this. Maybe you should visit the Duggars and get mariage counseling from them.
